If the player could grind at checkpoints for growth, this would be a non-issue, but instead it's just 1000 ways to die until trapped at a checkpoint that only a data reset can resolve. EDIT: I somehow (in 3 times resetting progress) missed the Flask of Eternity that refills at checkpoints. I made it to the Red Mountains on Bread and Apples before I ran out and was furious there was no other healing measures. Oops. My mistake.
